Gay Clubs and Bars in Playa de las Americas Gay Clubs and Gay Bars in Playa de las AmericasFor years Playa de las Americas or more correctly Costa adeje has only had 2 gay bars, things have now changed and Playa de las Americas / Costa adeje is now on the gay map with 5 gay bars/clubs all in the Salytien Shopping Centre and a gay apartment complex, Playaflor a few minutes walk away opposite Veronicas Strip There are rumours that another gay bar or club is opening shortly. Most of the clientele on the scene are Spanish but the proportions of brit's and other Europeans is increasing all the time. The Playa de las Americas / Costa Adeje gay village is centred at the Salytien Shopping Centre. The gay bars and clubs are not easy to find but the Salytien Shopping Centre is not too large so it's not too difficult. Use our gay bar map to help you You really only needs to see where some obvious gay person turns into a narrow passage leading into the centre. Signs are there but they are not obvious. The sea front and beach in this area is very cruisy late at nights . The gay scene does not liven up until after 11pm. Before this try the Playa Flor bar & terrace at Playaflor apartment complex opposite the end nearest Adeje in the Veronicas strip. Entrance is gained through an iron gate then up the stairs to the first floor. This is a fabulous looking bar having a Moroccan style decor comfortable seating, reasonable prices compared to the other gay bars and the only gay bar in Playa de las Americas with an open air outside terrace
The bar has a very large terrace that overlooks the veronicas centre but its first floor level also gives privacy. The ideal place to have a relaxing drink or snack meal. The bar is adjacent to the complex's swimming pool Sunday to Thursday 09:00 to 01:00
The Salytien Shopping CentrePlaya de las Americas / Costa Adeje Click Photographs to Enlarge The Salytien Shopping Centre is on the Sea front 4 minutes walk from Veronicas in the direction of Fanabe. The centre can be entered from either the main road, or from the sea front promenade. Where directions are given they are from the pedestrian promenade. Chaplin's bar - Gay
Popular gay bar run by a lesbian. Has occasional cabaret and cabins and usually the latest gay bar to remain open. Open from 23:00 to 08:00 busier from around 03:00 - 04:00 Chaplin's bar normally has a Show on a Thursday night
Salytien Shopping Centre. Down a few steps from the promenade continue down the passage past The Cellar bar. Chaplin's has 2 entrances which are used on busy nights. On quieter nights the door nearest the Cellar bar may be locked Geminis bar - Gay bar
A good dance bar with occasional cabaret. This is the usual starter bar but still does not get busy until about midnight. From here customers move on usually to the Punto Zero Club then on to Chaplin's Open from 22:00 to 04:00 Salytien Commercial Centre, Playa de las Americas. Down a short dark narrow passage way, off the sea front promenade, towards the Adeje end of the shopping centre. Look for rainbow sign at the passageway entrance. Punto Zero Club - Gay club
The Punto Zero Club plays good music and has friendly staff and is a late venue. This is the biggest and busiest of the gay venues. Starts getting busy about 01:00. They do a good drag show and the venue, like the Playaflor bar looks smarter than the other bars. Open from 22:00 to 06:00 Salytien Shopping Centre, Playa de las Americas. The Cellar Bar is the only British owned and run gay bar in Southern Tenerife and is the smallest of the gay bars. Snack meals such as hot dogs available. Open from 20:00 to 02:00 The Cellar Bar, Salytien Shopping Centre, Playa de las Americas. The Cellar Bar is the only gay bar that you can actually see from the sea front promenade. Located down a few steps from the promenade. Chaplin's bar is next door further along the passage.
