Playa de las Americas Bars Introduction
The bars and nightlife in Playa de las Americas are mainly centred around Starco's, Veronicas and The Patch, all centrally located in Playa de
las Americas. Veronicas is on the sea front with Starco's about 300 metres inland. The Patch is about 400 metres towards Los Cristianos, again
about 300 metres inland.
Bars and clubs usually stay open until 3 5 am. You will discover that certain bars are popular earlier on in the evening and usually close before
the "night owl" bars and clubs. An example of this is Starco's which has more bars than Veronicas is busier earlier, starting around 10pm.
The more club oriented Veronicas becomes busier towards 3pm.
The Patch tends to cater for a slightly older crowd.
As can be expected bar prices tend to be higher in these popular areas. Often discounts on first drinks are offered by bar touts. You may
be able to lower the cost of the evening by moving from bar to bar.
Out of season many bars are fairly empty earlier on in the evening and consequently lack that essential atmosphere.
An early evening short sleep before you go out may re tune you to the much later nightlife.
Bar Tours
Some of the tour operators organise bar tours, an ideal way to get to know the vibrant nightlife of Playa de las Americas. The tour usually provides
transport from your hotel / apartment to central Playa de las Americas, and usually includes the first drink at each establishment.

Starco's
Starco's is a shopping centre and very very popular area for nightlife with more bars than Veronicas popular
earlier in the night, people drift to Veronicas later for the clubs.

Starco is located on the opposite side of Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina from the southern end of Veronicas. It is set back from the
main road up the side street Gomez Cuesta. You can either cross the main road or there is a walk way under the main road that joins
the two centres Starco's and Veronicas.

nights, who tend to play the ever popular 60's and 70's hits through to up to date numbers.
Leonardo's bar is not actually in the Starco's centre but only 2

Veronicas Shopping centre is a series of shopping centres 1, 2, 3, 4 all
next to each but not in numerical order. This is a long strip of buildings. hence the popular name of Veronicas Strip.
Although
there are shops in Veronicas this is really a very popular night time venue with bars, clubs and restaurants. Veronicas Strip has more clubs,

than Starco's therefore more popular later in the night or more correctly later in the early morning.

The Patch
The patch restaurant and area called 'The Patch'
The Patch originally, and still is the name of a restaurant, but now the area around the restaurant is known as 'The Patch'. This
area has a high concentration of bars and restaurants and a few clubs. To generalise it is more popular with older holiday makers and a great nightlife
entertainment area where you will find drag shows, usually comedy drag, karaoke bars and bars with live entertainment groups, singers and impersonators.

roads off Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina near to the Americas shopping centre and City centre shopping centre.

Nearest bus stops for Starco's Veronicas & The Patch
Buses heading south from Costa Adeje : After leaving Playa de las Americas bus station the bus passes Palacio de Congress on your left,
straight across the roundabout with the police station on the left. The bus continues up the hill and passes the petrol station on your right then the bus
does a sharp right turn, ring the bell. The bus stop nearest Starco's and Veronicas is just before the T junction where the bus turns left
near to the Altamar Apartments.
After the above left turn the bus continues for 400 metres where it turns right passes the Columbus Aparthotel on your left then turn left. The nearest
bus stops for The Patch is immediatly after this turn and the stop is Coumbus or further along the same road near The Optomist and Zentra Shopping centre
Buses heading north towards Costa Adeje: The bus stops for The Patch are on the opposite side of the road from the above.
For Starcos and Veronicas the bus continues straight past the T junction near to the Altamar Apartments and the stop is
immediately after the right turn near the Tropical Playa Hotel

a few.
